What is the strategy document?

TU Berlin is currently preparing a strategy document that describes the values and strategic goals for the entire University up to the year 2025. In the fall, this strategy document entitled University Strategy for 2018 to 2025 will be discussed in the Academic Senate. Prior to this, until 26 August 2018, all staff members and students of the University will have three weeks to comment on the text and to contribute their ideas. In doing so, participants must abide by some commenting rules. Prior to that, they are required to register using their TU Berlin email address. Registered users can read not only the text itself, but also the comments posted by other users. Following the commenting phase, all comments will be edited and evaluated. Registered users have the opportunity to read this evaluation. In the fall, the results will be discussed in the Academic Senate.

With the University Strategy 2018 to 2025 we wish to lay the foundations for our ongoing strategic development. The Strategy defines the paths TU Berlin intends to follow in the future. The University Strategy is not a document that contains specific details and a list of proposals, let alone solutions to individual problems. It focuses on the big picture and the path we wish to pursue on our way to the future. In this regard, we wish to build on those aspects that define our identity and have made us strong in the past.

The Strategy must function both internally and externally: Internally, it must provide students and staff members with space, orientation and structures. Externally, on the other hand, it should create clarity and recognizability. The latter is important because, both in Germany and abroad, there are those who are not members of TU Berlin who wish to keep track of our activities and want to understand what we stand for and where we are heading.
